PPT Carbide Burrs
Tungsten Carbide Burrs
Here at Principal Power Tools, we know our tungsten carbide burrs, and we can quickly match you with the right tool for your desired job. Carbide Rotary Burrs, or rotary files or die grinder bits as they are sometimes called, are used for cutting, shaping, grinding, and removing sharp edges, burrs and deburring (removal of excess material). We have a large selection of shapes in single cut and double cut, non-ferrous and chip breaker or Diamond cut to help you get the exact form, smoothness and cut you require.
Trades like to know they are getting the best quality for their money, and we understand that and welcome trade orders. Likewise, the artisan or DIYer also needs to know that their investment in a tool will last and do the job needed. The Principal burr range has been proven to be the new benchmark in quality and performance. All our carbide burrs are checked in the historic steel city of Sheffield, England. World-renowned for its engineering excellence, precision and innovation, with roots stretching back hundreds of years. If you require superior performance, then the Principal carbide burr will excel.
We can also supply your carbide burrs with coatings to lengthen the life of your carbide burr. Titanium Nitride (TiN) is an excellent general-purpose coating. While Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN) coating can prove beneficial at higher temperatures. Titanium Carbo-Nitride (TiCN) offers excellent surface lubricity. Ask us for more information if your job has particular requirements.
Shank widths and lengths
We carry the regular shank sizes of 2.35mm (3/32″), 3mm, 3.17mm (1/8″), 6mm, 6.35 mm (1/4 “) and 8mm. These will fit the most reputable pneumatic rotary tools, die grinders and high-speed engravers and drills. Plus, hobby drills, micro motor or a high-speed handpiece, including Dremel.
Lengths of shank will give you greater depth; we carry extra long shanks. It should be noted that extra-long burrs with 6mm shank over 150mm long and 3mm shanks over 50mm long should be used at reduced speeds. You can ask us to find the right shank and depth for your particular task. We also have double head burrs to save you money and time changing heads.
